Upon arriving at the lodge you will be greeted by a Iron Wolf Outfitters employee, assigned to a bedroom and given a tour of the lodge. You will meet with your guide and sign a liability release. The guides will talk to you about the next morning’s hunt and the scenario you will be hunting. Once you have been orientated by your guide, supper will be available from 6-8pm and you are free to relax and enjoy the lodge for the evening …And of course, don’t forget to get ready for the morning hunt.

Goose hunts are mainly in panel and layout blinds. All you have to do is show up, the Iron Wolf Outfitters team scouts and handles all preparations for the hunt.

What should I expect

Morning goose hunters should expect to be awake and ready to go by the time the guide has set

the previous night. Hunters should expect to drive one hour or less from the Lodge depending on where the guides have decided to hunt that day. We don’t want you to be late (this ensures that your guide can get everything set, do his last minute checks, and each hunter can get situated in the blind before

shooting hour). Hunters should be prepared to hunt in different scenarios. Depending on conditions and where the birds are at, you will be hunting fields – in pit blinds, skid blinds, or layout blinds.

Afternoon goose hunters should expect to meet with their guides shortly after lunch to receive their departure time and a brief overview of the afternoon’s hunting scenario. Once you have met with your guide you will need to ensure that you have everything ready to go by the departure time they have set. Afternoon goose hunters should expect the same hunting scenarios as morning goose hunters.
